The municipality of Paipa is part of the Boyacá department and ranks as the sixth most populous in the region. Founded on February 19, 1602, it is situated at an altitude of 2525 meters above sea level.
Paipa is renowned for its beautiful landscapes and therapeutic thermal waters. It also holds historical significance for being the site of the pivotal Battle of Pantano de Vargas during Colombia’s quest for independence, where 14 lancers led by Colonel Juan José Rondón played a crucial role.
