The most striking thing about this course is that you can see planes passing very close by, as Olaya Herrera Airport is located in the sector. In fact, from holes 2 and 17 you can see the complete runway and to the right of the last one, a terrain with flowers, large trees, and gardens: the Jardines de Paz cemetery. It is a field with warm weather and strong winds. Due to its geographical location and the land’s topography, it is one of the most challenging fields in the country.

Its design is not typical in Colombia, it is located at the top of a mountain with rocky terrain and large depressions, surrounded by cliffs. The lack of trees is another characteristic that takes away from the course the sense of depth and makes it difficult to calculate distances. The hazards are obvious, however, you have to play with precision.

The high level is more irregular and has a direct view of the Caribbean Sea.

To keep in mind: the rainy season is from May to October, which means that there is less breeze and the ball can be controlled better, while from November to April the winds are strong and the ball bounces more, as the field hardens.

The course features narrow fairways that can punish imprecise shots and small greens. It’s a short yet challenging course, with nearly every hole featuring lakes or bunkers as obstacles.

The longest and most difficult hole is the par 5 8th, spanning 584 yards. With rough to the right and a row of large trees to the left, the fairway is very narrow for the first 280 yards, and there’s a frontal lake with bamboo groves to the right that extend almost to the center of the fairway.

From the tee of the 9th hole, you can enjoy a beautiful landscape with a mountain range and a waterfall cascading towards the green of the 8th hole—an unmatched view.
