The airport is located in the west of the city and is connected to the rest of the city by Expressway 26, also known as Avenida El Dorado. The neighborhoods around the airport and Avenida El Dorado are Fontibón and Engativá.
There you will find a modern financial center, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, various government buildings and embassies from different countries and the USA. The Corferias exhibition center is also not far away.

Hotels in La Candelaria
La Candelaria is the historical center of Bogotá. The neighborhood is located in the southwest of the city and is directly connected to the airport via Avenida El Dorado and the Transmilenio. La Candelaria forms part of the city center, which is also where the national and regional government is located.
It is said that the city was born in La Candelaria and that the quarter consists largely of colonial buildings. Most of the sights are also located in or around La Candelaria, such as the Monserrate Mountain, the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, the Bolivar Square, the Chorro de Quevedo and much more. The historical center is undisputed in the cultural environment.
There are many hostels and some good hotels in La Candelaria. However, the city’s luxury hotels are located in other quarters. The neighborhood also has a culinary offer, although this is rather limited in the evening. In general, La Candelaria isn’t particularly lively in the evening, which some travelers find unsafe. You can also meet stray dogs and beggars here.
