According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia, some areas are prohibited or restricted for helicopter flights in Medellín and its surroundings due to safety, heritage, or environmental reasons. Some of these areas include:

In Medellín: Military zones, such as the Rionegro Air Base and the Combat Air Command No. 5.

In Guatapé and Peñol: A minimum altitude of 500 feet above the water level must be maintained, and landing on the Peñón de Guatapé is not permitted.

In Jericó and Cerro Tusa: A minimum altitude of 500 feet above ground level must be maintained, and landing on Cerro Tusa is not allowed.
