DAY 1 ARRIVAL – BOGOTÁ

Upon arrival at El Dorado International Airport, a professional guide will pick you up at the international arrivals exit to escort you to your hotel. A private driver will take you to the Orchids Hotel located in the historical center of the city. Important points like the Plaza de Bolivar and the Botero Museum are just around the hotel.

You will have a walking tour where you will visit some of the highlights of the city as the Botero Museum, Bolívar Square, the Gold Museum and some churches from the colonial era.

We gladly suggest you restaurants and bars for the evening to start exploring the excellent gastronomic delights of Colombia.

DAY 2 – BOGOTÁ

THE HIGHEST WATERFALL IN COLOMBIA

In the morning, you will be picked up by a local guide and a private driver. The destination are the hills nearby Bogota, for which you will travel for about an hour and a half.

You will enjoy a hike on the mountains to reach the waterfall La Chorrera, the highest in Colombia. It will be a day of connection with nature, admiring the beauty of the place. After the activity ends in the morning, you will enjoy lunch within the park.

After this you will be transfered back to the hotel and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. There is always something to explore in downtown and we will suggest you places to visit in your free time.

DAY 3 ARRIVAL – LETICIA

In the morning, you will be escorted to the Airport in Bogotá to take your flight to Leticia, capital city of the department of the Amazons in Colombia.

The Colombian Amazon is part of a much larger region shared with Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Suriname, Guyana and Bolivia and is also considered the lungs of the world. With more than seven million square kilometers, it is a giant carbon dioxide storage and oxygen producer. As an autonomous country, the Amazon region would be the ninth largest in the world.

Upon arrival in Leticia, the guide and driver will bring you to Waira Suites Hotel, located in the heart of the city, a few minutes from the majestic Amazon river, banking area, currency exchange, formal and informal trade and handicraft shops.

After having lunch in your hotel, you will do a City Tour in Leticia. You will explore parks, churches, monuments, the pier, the ethnographic museum of the Amazon as well as watching the arrival of the Loritos in the main park. The day ends with a dinner in your hotel.

DAY 4 – LETICIA

PUERTO NARIÑO

After breakfast a guide will pick you up at your hotel. Today you will have a full day tour through the Amazon River. You will visit the Isla de los Micos, where the mokeys are used to humans and climb on the visitors without showing any fear. Like in the circus, the little creatures jump around among the visitors and use them as a ramp.

You will then visit the community “Macedonia”, a population of the indigenous Ticunas. They will welcome you with a typical dance and teach you some words in their native language. You will have around 30 minutes to take a look around the community and at the crafts made out of palo sangre (a very resistant reddish wood), chambira, seeds, etc.

You will then continue your tour to Puerto Nariño. Puerto Nariño is the second largest community in the department. The community, known as The Crib of Colombia, is a great example of how humans and nature can live together sustainably . Cars are banned and waste is recycled. You will enjoy a lunch in the town. After a city tour visiting the town viewpoints with a view above the amazon you will return to Leticia. During the boat rides, there is the possibility of observing some of the pink and gray dolphins which are living in the Amazon rivers.

You will have the rest of the evening to relax, walk around town, or enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

DAY 5 – LETICIA

NATURAL RESERVE MARASHA

After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel by the group guide. You will have a boat ride of approximately 40 minutes crossing to the Peruvian side.

Upon arrival you will hike around one hour to the Marashá reserve observing centenarian and medicinal trees like Ceibas, Ohes, Capinurys, Chuchuguaza, Acrils as well as a variety of avifauna., Monkeys, frogs and insects. (During water season the hike path will be realized in canoe).

You will then have a typical meal in the Marasha Reserve. After this you will have the opportunity to do a variety of activities at the lake: artisan fishing, observation of the Amazonian lotus Victoria Regia, visit a huge ceiba, kayaking, among others.

In the afternoon you will be returned to Leticia.

DAY 6 – LETICIA

ECOLOGICAL PARK MUNDO AMAZONICO

Today you will visit the ecological park Mundo Amazonico, a natural reserve and environmental education center located near Leticia. A local guide will pick you up and will share his knowledge on the different cultures and communities that have inhabited the area for thousands of years. At noon you will have lunch in the restaurant of the park.

In the afternoon you will walk a natural trail with the group guide, who will teach you a great deal about the most representative plants and animals in the region and their use. In an aquarium you will also have the opportunity to get to know the local water world and its inhabitants.

After finishing the activities you will be transported back to your hotel.

DAY 7 – LETICIA

ZACAMBÚ VILLAGE AND THREE BORDERS

After breakfast you will be accompanied to the port by a guide to take a boat. You will have a ride around the majestic amazon river. You will visit Islandia at the Peruvian side, also known as the Venice of the amazon.

Then you will visit Benjamín Constant on the Brazilian side, getting to cross all the borders of the three countries and their inhabitants and their way of living on this zone of the world.

After lunch you will have the possibility of fishing. On the way back to Leticia there is again the chance to observe some pink and grey dolphins. Rest of the afternoon is free.

DAY 8 – HOMECOMING

Last day of your visit. After breakfast guide and driver will take you to the airport to take your flight to Bogotá and then back home. We hope that everything was perfect and you are satisfied with the different services provided. Do not forget that any suggestions or complaints are welcome.
