Golf in Colombia — what makes it different
Colombia is one of Latin America’s best-kept golf secrets. The country has 50+ courses, with most concentrated around Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena — three cities that span 8,600 ft of altitude difference and three completely different climates. You can play sea-level Caribbean fairways in the morning and high-altitude Andean mountain courses two days later. Few destinations offer that range in a single trip.
Pelecanus is an IAGTO-member operator — the international body that vets golf tour operators for service quality. We have direct access to the country’s signature courses, partnerships with the best resort hotels, and the local logistics to combine multiple destinations without losing a day to airport transfers. Whether you want a long-weekend Cartagena escape or a 17-day three-destination grand tour, every itinerary below is real, costed, and bookable.
Below: itineraries by city (single-destination, 1–9 days) and itineraries by combination (multi-destination, 9–26 days, 2 or 3 destinations). Pick the structure that fits your group’s appetite.
By single destination — Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena
If you have under 10 days or you want to focus on one course cluster, single-destination itineraries are the clean play. Each city has 1–9 day options. We pick the courses, the hotel, the round timing, and the off-course rest days.

Common questions about Colombia golf trips
Are the courses up to international standards?
Yes — the courses we book are 18-hole championship layouts, well-maintained, with English-speaking staff. Some are PGA Tour qualifier venues. We don’t book sub-par courses.
What’s the altitude effect on my golf game?
In Bogotá (8,600 ft) the ball flies roughly 10–12% farther. You’ll be hitting one club less than your sea-level distance. We brief you on this in pre-trip materials.
Do I bring my own clubs?
Most clients do — your own clubs guarantee feel and consistency. Major airlines have golf-bag fees but generally accept oversized luggage. If you prefer, we arrange premium club rentals at every course (typically $40–80/day).
Can non-golfing partners join?
Yes — we build dual itineraries. Golfers play, partners get parallel cultural/spa/shopping experiences. Both come back to the same hotel for dinner.
Best season for golf in Colombia?
Year-round, but Dec–Mar is dry season for the Caribbean (Cartagena). Bogotá and Medellín are playable any month — pack a rain layer for the occasional afternoon shower.
Group sizes — solo, couple, foursome, larger?
All sizes. Solo travelers, couples, and small groups (4–8) get our standard treatment. Larger groups (8–24) get a dedicated trip lead and pre-trip planning call. Corporate golf teams of 16+ are common — we run those quarterly.
How do I book?
WhatsApp is fastest. Tell us your dates, group size, handicap range, and which itinerary caught your eye. We respond in under 24 hours with a costed proposal.
